Dos and Don'ts at Stag Parties

August 12, 2017

While the content of a stag party activity and enjoyment is vital, etiquette too must be followed. There are certain clear dos and don'ts for stag parties. These cardinal rules will help you and everybody else to have fun and not face any embarrassment. Purpose of stag do is to celebrate the transition of bachelor to man or in other words the initiation for the non-initiated!

Do: Plan the stag night according to the taste of the groom to be.

Don't: If your friend isn't comfortable with a particular activity, do not push him. In fact that activity shouldn't even be on the list!

Do: Listen to the any concern or suggestion the bride to be has of the stag party.

Don't: It is not a good idea to misuse or abuse the trust bride to be has in you has her future husband's best man and close buddy. At the same time, don't bow down to her too.

Do: Have the party couple of weeks before the actual wedding.

Don't: Having a party in the same week as the wedding is stupidity and in having it before the day of wedding is insanity.

Do: Ask all the other friends being invited to the stag night to contribute financially for the party.

Don't: A simple rule - Don't allow the groom to be to pay. And there is absolutely no need to shoulder the entire cost yourself.

Do: Arrange a dinner party at the would-be groom's favourite restaurant. This will give elders and youngsters who will not be attending the actual stag night.

Don't: Going directly for the boozing is not a good idea without the dinner.

Do: Play pranks and give a memento that the groom to be would appreciate in good taste. Know the limits.

Don't: Stag night is for enjoyment and not scarred memories and embarrassment. So do not hurt the groom to be in anyway.

Do: Send invites as early as 4 weeks ahead if you have any friend flying in from some place.

Don't: Sending an invite in the last minute and expecting a crowd... that doesn't happen.

Do: Invite only those guests that the groom to be wants in his stag party.

Don't: It is absolutely insane to invite someone without consulting the groom to be and to invite someone from the bride's side. Remember 'What happens in the stag party, stays in the stag party'. No one from the bride's side is allowed!

Do: Buy stag night gag gifts for remembrance for all attending the party.

Don't: The gifts are the only remembrance. No camera or cell phone or video camera should be allowed.

As much as you know how to throw a party, it is also important to take the party through the right path. That way, everybody can enjoy and have a good time without any unwanted mishaps.
